FUNDRAISER FOR A STANDISH SIGN

Jimmy Henderson is working toward achieving the rank of Eagle Scout, and he has undertaken, as part of the requirements for becoming an Eagle Scout, a project to help Standish.  Jimmy is installing a sign that will be placed in the front of the shelter not only to identify the shelter but also to make it much easier for adopters to find the shelter.  The project, which has already begun, is being planned and supervised by Jimmy.  To raise funds to pay for the materials needed to design and erect the sign, he is having a fundraiser at the Ninety Nine Restaurant in Pembroke.

The Share the Love donations have made it possible for Standish to help pets in need through the Home Forever Fund. To learn more, go here

KAYLEE ROSE
Another "Standish Cats Helping Dogs" Success Story.
Kaylee Rose is an 8 yr old white German Shepherd. Her previous owners had her since she was a puppy. Kaylee Rose's owners had to rent a house and the landlord said NO DOGS. They boarded her for a while until they couldn't afford it any more--all the while thinking they could find another rental that would let them have a dog. Boarding became prohibitive and Kaylee Rose moved from foster home to foster home until they were convinced the best thing for Kaylee Rose was to give her up. Sadly they asked Donna, a Standish volunteer who also helps with dog rescue, to start looking for a home for Kaylee Rose. Kaylee Rose was kept at Kingston Animal Shelter until Donna found her a home with a great couple who also have a 13 yr old shepherd and a 2 yr old French bulldog. Kaylee Rose had never been spayed and her shots were overdue. Donna asked Marilyn, the spay/neuter assistance coordinator for Standish, for a voucher to get these things done. The new family will use the certificate for the spay, and the new family will pay for all the extras including a micro chip, kennel cough vaccination etc. In Donna's words: "I know she will do great with this new home and she deserves it." Thank you Donna and Marilyn for all you do for the animals. And thank you to you, our friends, for allowing Standish to help those in need. We truly appreciate your support. Happy Life Kaylee Rose!
