Memorials and Bequests
Two important forms of funding are memorial donations for special remembrance of departed relatives or pets and bequests left to Standish in a will.
Memorial/Tribute Donations: For those who wish to donate in memory of or in honor of a person or pet, please let us know whom to notify: If you send a check, please include a note with name and address of those you want to be notified of your donation. If you donate online, please send an email with the notification information.
Bequests: For those who wish to assist Standish with a bequest, this sample text may be used in preparation of a will. It is important to get the name exactly right:
“I (benefactor’s name) give, devise, and bequeath to Standish Humane Society, now or formerly in the town of Duxbury in the state Massachusetts, the sum of _________dollars (or otherwise describe the property given) to be used for the general purpose of said organization.”
The Standish Humane Society is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization run almost entirely by volunteers. Standish is an organization dedicated to placing homeless cats into loving “forever homes” and to reducing the tragic pet over-population problem through its reduced-cost spay/neuter programs.
