Spay-Neuter Program

Standish has a reduced-cost spay/neuter program in which a number of veterinary hospitals participate. We offer reduced-cost spay or neutuer to owners who qualify for financial assistance. Every cat adopted from our shelter is spayed or neutered.

For more information about our reduced cost spay/neuter program,

email or call 781-834-4663 (choose option 3)

Standish offers reduced cost spay-neuter for dogs, too.

Animal Rescue League Spay Waggin' Clinics for Cats

are held at the shelter in Duxbury once a month, by appointment only.

Call 781-834-4663 (option 3) or email to make an appointment.

In 2017, Standish coordinated the spay/neuter of 311 female cats and 243 male cats.  Of these, 279 were Standish Humane shelter cats. The shelter does not take in dogs, but we helped 23 female dogs be spayed and 22 male dogs be neutered. We would like to thank the area veterinarians listed here who participate in our program as well as the Animal Rescue League of Boston for bringing its “Spay Waggin” mobile surgical van to Holmes House each month.
