Mass Animal Coalition
Standish Humane Society is honored to announce we’ve received a 2024 grant from the Massachusetts Animal Coalition (MAC) to support our spay and neuter program. The $3500 award will be used to facilitate sterilization of cats and kittens in SHS’s care, community and feral cats through our Trap-Neuter & Release program and to provide financial assistance to pet owners. Spay and neuter is a mainstay of reducing overpopulation of unwanted cats and kittens and eliminating pain and suffering among colony cats due to death from predators, starvation and the environment.
MAC is a statewide, non-profit organization comprised of animal welfare professionals and individual volunteers dedicated to working together to decrease the number of homeless, neglected, displaced and abused animals in Massachusetts. MAC’s “I’m Animal Friendly” license plate program helps fund spay and neuter programs across the state and tells your community you care about animals. Proceeds from sales of this license plate support MAC’s grant program which subsequently helps organizations like Standish carry out our mission.
These charitable plates are available through Massachusetts RMV and are tax deductible and can be ordered through the MAC website at www.petplate.org.
